In the Beginning

Before the beginning

Did the Spirit still dance?

And was the breath

Of life

The Word

Whose echoes

Still now

Sing?

It all begins at the beginning

And whether or not there is a God

From there the whole of the rest follows

Love, goodness, destiny, freedom

And the sacredness, or not,

Of the human soul.
